An eminent artist, painter and a distinguished academician in the field of Fine Arts, Dr Indu Joshi is the Associate Professor and Head, Department of Fine Arts, Agra College, Agra, one of the oldest and most prestigious centres of higher learning since 1823, teaching post-graduate and doctoral students. A Gold Medalist in her Master’s, she was awarded University Research Scholarship for her doctoral research. She was also conferred with the prestigious “Miss Fine Arts” title during her post-graduation, the “Best Student” and the “Best Artist” award.
Dr. Indu has travelled widely across the world and studied artwork collections at several globally renowned museums and monuments including British Museum and National Gallery, London (UK); National Gallery of Art and Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM), Washington DC; Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (USA), Muse-de-Orsay and the Louvre, Paris (France); Leonardo Museum, Milan; Gallerie dell’Accademia, Venice; Saint Mark’s Basilica and Museum, Florence; National Museum of Royal Palace, Pisa; Vatican Museums, Capitoline Museums, Colosseum and Roman Forum, Rome (Italy) besides in Switzerland, UAE and Singapore.
Dr. Indu regularly participates in several International and National Art-exhibitions including the recent International Art Fair 2018, (Feb. 04-18, 2018), New Delhi receiving overwhelming response.
Dr. Indu features in the List of Eminent Artists by India’s National Fine Arts Academy and the Catalogue of Contemporary Artists by U P State Fine Arts Academy, Lucknow. She received several approbations including award by State Fine Arts Academy, Lucknow and has also been a Jury Member for ‘Regional Art Exhibitions’.
Her paintings are preserved in several public and private collections in India and abroad. Dr. Indu is highly sought after artist and academician for Art-Exhibitions, Conferences and Seminars in India and overseas.
